Terms of Service

Last updated September 2, 2026

1. What this is

Three Doors ("the site," "the game") is a small, independently-made web experiment operated by Marie Kirton-Daike ("we," "the creator"). It's a personal project, not a company product — it grows and changes over time, sometimes automatically, and features may be added, changed, or removed without notice.

2. Accounts aren't verified identity

Signing in only requires a name and a passphrase you choose. This is not a verified login — there's no email confirmation, no password reset, and no way for us to confirm you are who you say you are. Anyone who knows both your name and passphrase can access your account. Don't reuse a real password here, and don't treat this account as secure.

3. Content you submit

If you submit lore, suggestions, or other content through the site, you keep ownership of what you write, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to display, edit, adapt, or remove it as part of the game — including submissions that are approved and shown to other visitors. We review submissions before they're shown publicly and may reject, edit, or later remove anything at our discretion, for any reason.

Don't submit anything illegal, harassing, hateful, or that you don't have the right to share. We can restrict or remove access for anyone who does.

4. Donations

If the site offers a way to make a voluntary donation — as a one-time tip or a recurring monthly subscription — that donation is a gift to support hosting and ongoing development. It does not purchase any good, service, or ownership stake. Donations are processed by a third-party payment processor (such as Stripe); we do not receive or store your card details.

One-time tips are non-refundable. Once a tip is made, it cannot be refunded, except where required by law.

Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from the site, and cancelling stops future billing. Past charges for a billing period already paid are non-refundable, including if you cancel partway through one, except where required by law.

5. No warranty

The site is provided "as is," with no guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or unchanged. We may modify, suspend, or shut it down at any time, including permanently, without obligation to preserve your data, character, streak, or points.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including loss of data, account access, or donated funds due to technical failure.

7. Age

Three Doors is not directed at children under 13, and you shouldn't use it, submit content, or donate if you're under that age.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
